Bringing him all the tools will result in lower repair/upgrades prices, and he will be also able to perform an unique tier 3 upgrade on the Exoskeleton that allows the player to run. After giving him the Gauss gun, he will be able to perform any upgrade he can without vodka.Ĭardan provides a mission that requires the player to bring him three set of tools: Basic tools, Fine tools and a Calibration Kit. It also provides several (optional) game breaking cheats, and has not been updated since March 2011.

Notice that even without vodka, he can still repair the player's equipment. Has an large list of mods available for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat. The more vodka the player gives him, the more upgrades he will be able to perform, although giving him a third bottle will make him pass out and he will be unable to do anything for a period of time. Due to him being an alcoholic, his offer is fairly limited unless the player brings him Vodka.

He will very eagerly agree, wishing to travel to Pripyat in an effort to free other Monolith members from their brainwashing.Cardan is the Loners technician in the area of Zaton. When the time comes to recruit people for your mission to Pripyat, you can go to Strider and ask him to come with you. As of now, your mission is complete, and you may continue playing the game until the time comes for your expedition. Once the squad returns to Yanov Station with you and the recruiters, they will become regular members of their faction, Friendly, and will wander the Zone with their comrades. The recruiters will describe their faction, and the Monolith will accept. With some convincing, he will send a couple of recruiters to them with you. Return to your faction leader, and inform him of the squad. He will inform you of the squad's situation. They can be found just North of the Container Warehouse, to the most South-Western end of Yanov ( See the map screenshot to the left.) Once there, speak with Strider. The faction you sided with will now trust you and be friendly to you, and you will receive membership. Once you have handed off the PDA, you will need to go to the Duty cache and kill the side that you didn't give the PDA to - if you gave it to Freedom, kill Duty if you gave it to Duty, kill Freedom.
∙ Entire Duty Warehouse Cache (Including PSZ-9d Duty Suit, Groza)įor the sake of this guide, I will choose Freedom - the rewards are slightly better, in my opinion, as it allows you to receive both suits. ∙ Ability to purchase Wind of Freedom Suit, SVD, from Hawaiian ∙ Discount from Freedom-sympathizing Yanov Trader ("Hawaiian", Undocumented) The other rewards for either choice are listed below: Regardless of your choice, you will still be able to recruit Strider for the Pripyat mission. You are now presented with a choice - you may present Morgan's PDA to either the Duty or Freedom commanders in Yanov. Go to Pilot and travel to Yanov when you are ready. Take however long you need to prepare for the next bit - you don't need to hurry if you don't want to. The PDA is worth much more than he will pay you. You will have the option to sell the PDA to Owl, on the Skadovsk. You may need the firepower for a later mission in this guide. Note: Although not necessary, it is advisable that you take this opportunity to collect a more powerful weapon. Dispatch him and pull the PDA off his corpse. Deal with the situation however you deem necessary - the key here is to steal Morgan's PDA. When you arrive, you will find a Mercenary commander (Morgan) discussing that he has stolen a Duty weapons cache and is willing to sell the weapons to the Bandits. Soon after the game begins and you get aboard the Skadovsk, Beard will ask you to help a group of Stalkers interrupt an arms deal between Mercenary troops and Bandits. Fortunately, this quest has an extreme number of benefits and very few drawbacks to complete - you can finish it fairly early in the game, and the rewards you will receive from the faction you support are immense. In addition to allowing you to recruit Strider (the Monolith squad leader) to assist you in the Pripyat Underground, you will need to complete this quest in its entirety. Attempting to tell a faction leader that they can be trusted won't help you much if that faction leader doesn't trust you.
This mission is not altogether difficult by itself, but gaining enough trust of either Duty or Freedom is, for this quest. They will explain to the player that they are no longer under the psychological brainwashing of the Monolith, and will request help in gaining safe passage back into the life of a Stalker. During the course of Call of Pripyat, the player may run into a Monolith squad - one that is very confused, lost, dazed, and friendly.
